Ticketmaster question: Anyone having difficulty transfering tickets?

SuziemaySuziemay Posts: 11,168
Hi there, I'm sold a spare ticket to another fan and am trying to transfer the ticket to her so that it's no longer in my name but it doesn't look like Ticketmaster allows me to. Is anyone else having this same issue? Specifically this is for St. Paul.

I called Ticketmaster, and have my answer. They said the promoter for the event requested that ticket transfer be turned off, so no ticket transfers allowed.

That happened with a couple friends who were trying to do that with NIN/SG tix in Vegas a few months ago.

Is this for all shows now? I successfully transferred the Detroit ticket I bought for my friend a couple of weeks ago. Wondering if it's still valid.

If you could transfer and your friend accepted the transfer and it now shows up in his/her account, you should be fine. The site doesn't allow me to go through with the transfer for St. Paul. It's probably venue-specific. I transferred Pearl Jam tickets on TM for last year's US tour and it worked just fine.

That would explain why I wasn't able to transfer tickets. I'm confused why a promoter would care about transferring tickets.
