Hey guys. I have only recently been introduced to Pearl Jam; to me they were always one of those bands people talked about and recommended in passing conversation. However, a few months back I was watching "Later with Jules Holland" (Kinda smashed at the time) and it featured Pearl Jam. Well all I can say is the rest is history, they absolutely blew me away!

Sometimes I kick myself for discovering Pearl Jam so late but I can't deny that I'm thoroughly enjoying catching up on what I've been missing out on. :D

Anyway, I have managed to get a hold of some tickets for their Arnhem concert and I simply can't wait!

HOWEVER. I saw the set list for their gig at The Point and I couldn't help but notice they didn't do Rearview Mirror!!!!? So what I'm saying is have I left it too late? Does that particular track take too much out of them?

Every time I've seen them do Rearview mirror on TV it seems to be the one song that really takes some hardcore effort. And for that fact I love it! I want to see that song performed live more than anything in the world...

Do you think they will play it in Arnhen? I seriously hope so.

Thanks for reading, see you in Holland. ;)

always cool to have more fans. They usually alternate each night with Rearviewmirror or Porch, So there is a good chance you might get it. I saw it 5 times during my 8 show run on the west coast.

It always feels good to discover a band you like and then begin enjoying their back-catalogue. You've got about ten albums to enjoy fresh now. I envy you that!
  • on coming across Pearl Jam. You'll have many happy hours of listening to fantastic music, not to mention some excellent gigs and live shows. If pearl jam was a beer, they'd probably be the best beer in the world!!

I'm 0 for 3 on Rearviewmirror and it's my all time favorite. But don't be discouraged they play it quite a bit.
As a new fan if you come across a song or an album that you aren't too keen on right away give it some time and it'll grow on you in a big way. It always does.

I mnot the biggest fan out there, but "Not For you" was the first song I'd heard PJ do that made me understand the whole bit. I knew "Alive, E-Flow, Jeremy, Daughter etc.." but after that, I was hooked. Man, if I could go through that first time feeling again, I'd be beside myself. "Jeremy" was my heartfelt song live - and man, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

    Welcome - and congrats :)

woohoo new pj fans rule! rearviewmirror gets it's fair share of play. as mentioned before it usually ends the main set before the first encore break, so if you don't see it in that position of the setlist you probably won't see it at all. It's a great song live and yeah theres probably a good reason why they end the main set with it usually... it's like one last burst of energy before they go take a small break and decide what to play for the encores. The end of RVM live is always a treat too, i love the strobes lights flickering to the beat of the song. Have fun at your show, no matter what they play you will have a blast!

  • Don't worry, Rearviewmirror is still quite the staple. You've probably got a 50/50 chance of hearing it, which is saying something for a Pearl Jam song. You never know what the hell they're gonna play. Now if you were hoping for Even Flow, I'd say no worries. ;)

Well I got my Birthday wish. :D

I thought the roof was going to fly off I was that exhilarated! The power I personally felt from that song was omnipotent.

And thanks for the hospitality guys, people here seem pretty cools. Thanks again.
