Maybe stupid question for those who know, but:
Why is "who you are" not played since 1998 ?
2006: Antwerp, Paris
2007: Copenhagen, Werchter
2009: Rotterdam, London
2010: MSG, Arras, Werchter
2012: Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin

all those songs that jack put his rhythmic, tribal drumming on are impossible for matt to recreate, and in who you are it is a main focus. that's my guess...matt has not been able to duplicate in my tree or given to fly's drumming to where jack had them before he left...who you are would be even tougher...

I have a lot of respect for Matt's drumming and loved it for Soundgarden but it just sounds bad with Pearl Jam. Jack Irons was so much more mellow and rhythmic. In My Tree, Who You Are, and Given to Fly are songs Matt just can't do. And the tempo has been way up on this tour which I don't like either, but that's probably to get more songs in.

Matt sounds like more of a clean, studio drummer, like a Joe Satriani of drumming. But Jack sounds more sloppy but more original and has much more soul, like a Jimmy Page. I just love his work on Mirror Ball. Sorry to be so hard on Matt, but 'Superunknown' and 'My Wave' are a couple of songs I just listen to to hear the drumming which just gets you pumped.
