Bridge School tickets and accommodation

Hi,
I'm planning to go alone from Spain to my first Bridge Benefit concert, I will try this Friday to get one ticket at any location. Do you know if it is too difficult to get tickets for this show? Is it usually sold out?
And about where to stay... Where do you recommend me to stay those nights? Is there any kind of public transportation to the venue from somewhere (San Franscisco,...)?

Thanks for your help!

consider using San Jose airport, its closer to Mountain View and the area you will want to stay...look into Sunnyvale for a close, affordable, place to stay... only about 5 miles from the venue. SF is about 40 miles or so from Mountain View.
i'm hoping to get a single on Friday too, not sure how hard they are to get. good luck, maybe i'll see you in the Golden State

Thanks for the tips. I'm checking to flight to Los Angeles or San Francisco from Spain. Maybe I need to rent a car and sleep in it for a few days :D

if you can't fly into San Jose then go to San Francisco... Los Angeles is 6 hours from Bridge School, that's a lot of driving... SF isn't bad, under 1 hour drive. But San Jose is the easiest way to do it if you have the option to fly there.

im not sure about transportation directly to shoreline amp. try contacting the venue maybe?? cabs from the Mountain View, Sunnyvale, San Jose area will be much more affordable than from SF.

The lawn seats are a better time.
    Bring sunscreen and an umbrella.
Bring a sweatshirt and/or a jacket, it can get cold at night.
    Have fun.

We always flew in to San Jose and got a rent a car.

A local fan gave me this info: You can take the Cal Train from San Francisco to Mountain View or if you are coming from SF airport you can take BART part way and Cal Train the rest.
I don't know if I can go, but send me a pm if you're going – I might be able to help connect you with people who are, and they might be able to share transports and accommodation etc to keep costs down. :)
Hope you have a great trip!

  • Long time fan, first time poster here on the official forum:

Can anyone provide details about the strategy for obtaining Bridge School tickets? Is this going to be the same deal as any other online Ticketmaster public sale? I am going to be online Friday going for a pair of Saturday tickets while a friend does the same for Sunday.

If we get shut out, what kind of hoops am I looking at jumping through to get reserved 200-level seating? Will people be asking 2x face value? 3x?

If I don't get reserved seats...I don't want to buy lawn seats and be stuck with them if I find reserved seats later...but...based on your past experience is the lawn likely to sell out on Friday? Or will I have time to pick up lawn seats in a few weeks if reserved get too expensive on the secondary market?

    THANK YOU!
  • And now a question about accommodations:

Does anyone live anywhere near the Amphitheatre that is opening up their pad to 10C couch-surfers? I am already traveling across country for another date on this tour and I'm not made of money. That said, drinks on me.
  • I just looked on StubHub. Tix for the lower section are starting at $500 and go up to almost $2,000 and not even for first or second row!!! That's insane! Tix for the 200 section are mid-$200s right now. I was hoping to get a single ticket for both days, but they go on sale at exactly the same time - I hate when they do that. How are other people going to try and get tix for both days? Do they sell out in seconds like PJ tix do?
...And he who forgets will be destined to remember.

...I swear I never took it for granted. Just thought of it now.
  • I'm thinking about staying at a Motel 6 or the Days Inn in Sunnyvale, I am doing this on a budget :)

I wasn't planning on renting a car (I hear parking can be quite a hassle at the venue) but maybe we can share a cab? Or I could chip in for gas / rent if anyone is renting a car.

    Where is everyone staying?
