Eddie to play at the Kidz stage at some point this weekend.

I met and hung out with some media people yesterday(who have become my weekend best friends) who conduct video interviews with the bands at lolla. They told me that at some point Eddie will be playing at the Kidz stage. They didn't have specifcs(i.e. what day, who with, if it'll be just him, etc) because it's suppose to be a secret and only a handful of people even know about this. They said they would try to get more details, but seemed to think nobody would know(or tell) for sure about when it's going to happen until a just before it happens. I guess they don't want 70,000 rushing to the Kidz stage all at once. Which, having a 2 year-old(he isn't at the show with me), I totally understand. So hopefully this turns out to be legit, but doesn't that just seem like something Eddie would do ? :D

  • My best bet would be at 3:15 on Sunday with the School of Rock All-Stars ... there's already an Ed association there, plus on the lolla site it says 'School of Rock All-Stars feat. very special guest. Still, good luck on keeping this quiet 'til Sunday afternoon.

maybe he will do Baby Beluga again, like he did at the bridge school the one year. My daughter loves that song.

Well, just the fact I even posted this here means there are more people that know about this than the concert people probably would like. Oh well. It's good for us(if it turns out to be true). I also noticed that there is a "very special guest" listed today on the Kidz stage. I'll make my way over there this afternoon, just in case.

  • Is this still going to happen? Just EV and not the whole band?

  • I just hope because of this there aren't a bunch of dudes hanging around the kidz stage like pedophiles :-/

Well, I sent someone over there (via text) and currently Jim James is onstage. So at least I didn't send him there for nothing ;) Hoping to get an update at some point from him.

Update: He enjoyed Jim and was grateful for the tip. It was announced that Perry Ferrell was coming out next, then Patti Smith, but my friend said he wouldn't be surprised if Ed came out later.

Perhaps. I just checked the schedule on Lolla's site. I hadn't realized the "School of Rock All Stars" thing was each day between 3-4. So yeah, maybe tomorrow.

The rumor I heard from some of my firends who are actually working at Lolla is that it will be tomorrow (sunday) around 3pm or so. Not full band.

I Know, thats exactly what I was thinking.

My day will most likely be something like this...

    Noon: see whoever sounds good.

    2: lunch

    3: hang out by Kidzapalooza

    4:15: Iggy

5-5:15 or so, catch a little of the Wailers

    6:15 Modest Mouse

7:45-8:00, get back in time for PJ who wont come on until 8:15 at least.

nice, same as us- we're checking out Yo La Tengo instead of wailers though...if you don't know them they are pretty damn good live- seen em about 5 times since they are a local band..and that stage is close to our main stage. I'm in army pants, converse, and a greay tattoo you T-shaved head... and my wife is wearing a blue jean miniskirt with a black sweatshirt tank top with braids..If you see us Say Hello. Would be cool to hang with outher Pearl Jam fans since most will be at KOL and My Morning Jacket-

I hear that it was a tentative plan but because it could pose safety issues, will probably not happen.
