Can human beings really live in a world as he described? Can we really co-exist peacefully without religion, guns, countries/flags, possessions? How many of us would really be willing to give these things up? Let’s find out how many Jammers can Imagine living in a world such as this.
Hi.
My first thought on this all was that film "The Beach". Interesting concept of living, kind of related to your post.
So...I'm not sure living should (could?) be completely blissful (though after seeing Buddhists nuzzling tigers and vice versa, which to me would be a dream lived), I might be equating it with the saying about ignorance/blinders, but also think it's part of life...part of the waves of life. With the waves come a barrel of hell and then (to quote In Hiding) surfacing.
Hopefully enlightened or a bit smarter for it.
As to your question, it'd be great - but maybe even better, co-existing peacefully with those things?
You could remove those things, but they'd be replaced with something else. Human nature is human nature, and not to sound pessimistic (honestly, I'm not), I just think something else would come up to prickle people from the point of pettiness to the other extreme.
I believe he was just inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame this year too!! :-bd
Yup, he was! Made a pretty funny speach to about how unrock n roll he is. (Referring to the drugs and drinking and Sex in r n r) lol. Vedder loves this guy and I'm all for both of these guys sitting down and laying some kind of a track TOGETHER! U reading this vedder? Make it happen!
too bad he disappeared from the scene for so many years. i loved his music in the seventies. tea for the tillerman is an all time classic. he turned to religion as he almost drowned off the beach in malibu and promised that if he survived he would turn to religion. he did gave up the music scene. too bad i always wanted to see him live. now he is too old.

Too old? His voice may have aged but he still sounds beautiful (to me). Would love to see him live as well.
Never knew about his near-drowning; I can imagine how that would change one's outlook, one's life.
I've tweeted Yusuf Islam to record something with vedder and possibly go on tour or do some shows in big cities like LA and NYC. Still waiting for an answer lol

Hearing them do Trouble together would be...something else.
And, sorry to the OP. Somehow this peace train shifted tracks
