Child Inside

There's still a child inside
thru the years I've seen her come and go
I've held her hand
I've watched her as we've grown old
and I've loved her everyday.

She so much a lady and she laughs just like a child
she's everything to me
and when I look in her eye's I see all she has given to me
all the thing's she will never know
and she may never know just how much I love her.

yes she laughs just like a child
but she's so much a lady to me
and I will forever love the child inside as we grow old together
she has captured my heart
I will love her forever.

and I love the child inside.

Being my father's daughter, my first thought was that this was for yours (though I think you have a son only? A BMX-competing one, at that!).

Then realized this must be for your lifelove, the one whose hand you've held and will always hold.

May we all live long enough to see (into) the eyes of those we love, have pledged our lives to, continue to age, get crinkles 'round the sides - more from laughter than anything else.

Thanks for the sweetness in this, GF.

Continue to love her; she sounds lovely...and tolerant :D

  • This is brilliant! I wish I could write poetry about love! Lol but without it, there's no reason to write about it. Still this was very sweet!

I get it . I do wish the child in me would come out to play more often.
