Three days

There are three days left before work steals my mind again
before I’m gone, dead, silent, KAPUTZ!
like a loud flare sent up,
I’ll be shot out of a cannon.
A burst of light and then an empty shell littering the ground
my days will be so crammed full of people that
I’ll have no space to think about mourning
a rocket sent to the moon that simply never makes it home again
I’ll just be absent, for good
think about what you’d want to say to a dying friend
for, that’s how it is…
three days and then real life takes over completely
I’m trying to let go and tie up whatever loose ends are left
but like an airport’s moving walkway,
even if you stand still, it’s moving ahead
if you hide, you’ll miss the end of summer and
maybe you don’t want to miss it?!

Godfather.
Well, I have always worked, but I do enjoy the less hectic schedule of my summers!
And now I see it is - holy shit! I haven't had a true piece of time off (meaning more than nine consecutive days) since June 2008. And I'm not boo-hooing but man, vacation is real life too - and to be enjoyed no matter the increments! So I hope you do, are, on these remaining days.
....and maybe consider another line of work
I like my job, I just find the busy pace rather overwhelming during the semester.
I had N :-@ space to think about mourning, today.
Three days, tilted the scales my way again....Enjoy the moments.
