    2nd, I'm a firearm enthusiast and she shouldn't carry a gun.
    3, Universities and schools have a law across the country of "no guns".
    4, carry pepper spray or a taser.
    5, who cares what the university security says. Keep calling them. It's an Ivy league college. They have the money.

    We can certainly defend ourselves without a gun as could a man - self-defense plus the other means mentioned above. Or, yeah...she could just go ahead and do it (though she might be - rightfully? - skittish and things could go horribly awry).

    And, unfortunately, safety is guaranteed nowhere.

    aside from this issue., the claim IN the article was an excon had a gun(big nono) and was still walking the streets? And how is it then that an adult male can stalk a minor female and not be charged?

    Pepper spray and a taser. She knows who her assailant is so maybe even a bat. She knows exactly whom she is looking out for.

    Or how about a trained attack dog, you know, like the ones always being shot by the bad cops? All she'd need to do is get a doctor's note stating that the dog is required in her presence for psychological comfort and she's legally allowed to take it anywhere a guide dog for a blind person would be allowed, which is just about everywhere, including pubic transportation, restaurants, classrooms, etc. but then again, when you think all your problems can be solved with a gun..........

    Why should a woman humiliate herself in order to defend herself? She should be empowered, and should be able to defend herself with a firearm if she desires.

    as I mentioned...maybe she should carry a concealed weapon and not draw attention to it by writing articles that circulate the internet

    In a perfect system she would be immediately notified if the guy posted bail....I think that system might be in place now but I'm sure it isn't perfect

    just to let some of you know, pepper spray & tasers do not work on some folks. they are fucking dangerous, crazy & nasty as shit. a swat team can pepper spray & taser one of these animals & the swat team still gets beat the hell out of

    that's six or eight swat team guys against one pissed off guy. eventually they get him, only after he fucked them up real good
