A few on here like to say how the GOP is the roadblock to Obama succeeding.

What do you have to say about this?

335 bills, untouched by the Senate.

Thanks Harry Reid. I appreciate the holdup, we don't need more laws and spending. Thank you for roadblocking these.

we can go tit for tat and blame boehner for not even bringing things passed by the senate to a floor for discussion in the house.

    it works both ways.

    It certainly does.

So let's stop accusing one side of being the block.

It would be interesting to see a chart of some sort showing passed bills and roadblocked bills. Sure seems to me Obama's efforts have been frequently stalled by the GOP but I don't have the facts to back that up.

So unsung, is this thread meant to discuss how Obama has or has not been roadblocked by the GOP or how you believe all roadblocks are good because you don't want any federal laws? Or something else?

This thread shows that Harry Reid hasn't let legislation come up, therefore he is the roadblock. It's to show that the House GOP isn't the only one doing it.

I thank him because I don't believe that we generally need more laws.

Both parties are good at working with each other when it comes to renaming post offices.

So one of two things is probably true.

    1. Reid is refusing to advance bills that have absolutely no chance of passing the Senate, let alone being signed by Obama. I'm guessing these bills are NOT beneficial to the people or bi-partisan

    2. The GOP is impotent

You don't have to be partisan to see that the GOP is the problem.

Audit the Fed is waiting for Harry Reid to bring it up, what's he waiting on?

Both parties are at fault here. Most of these bills are nothing but shams, designed to fire up the tea party faithful. The Republicans in the house are so busy running for re-election that they don't have time to govern. They have no interest in working with Senate leaders or the President to compromise to write bipartisan legislation. Pretty disgusting, really. They want pay for performance for teachers? Seems to me that we should only pay Congress if they perform.

since earmarks were gotten rid of in that form, what kills a lot of things these days is ridiculous amendments that have little to nothing to do with the legislation being proposed. It would also help if both chambers went to conference on differences like is supposed to happen.

It would also help if the house stopped using that dumbass Hasert rule.

I'm for open primaries with no notation of party, gives greater prospect for many candidates in an individual race.

Both sides worry about nothing but raising money, getting re elected and pork projects. They all are useless bags of crap. One term should be all anyone gets.Do away with reelection and fundraising and actually elect people who want to make a difference.
