I see the Gaza thread was closed, too bad because it was very informative.
Anyway where do you go on the net for accurate unbiased information...if there is such a place. Thxs

I suspect it'll be purged of the offensive terms and re-opened. I definitely hope so, at least.

I like a variety- BBC news, Huffington Post, MSNBC, CNN, Democracy Now.. Of course often times I'm just reading the same fabrications and selectively edited "news". Hard to say what's really going on out there, Much easier to follow local news (i.e. go out, look around, talk to people involved.)

in addition to a lot of what has been posted already, i read the guardian a lot.

most of the history of things like the israeli subjugation of palestinians is in books. most people are too lazy to research things themselves because there are hundreds of thousands of pages of text on it. plus talking heads fuck it up nicely for all of us......it is impossible for one person to read all of it. how i learned about it, i read some books at the suggestion of an ex g/f who was very knowledgeable on the situation and very active. she had done a lot of the homework, i just absorbed it. but mostly i relied on posters from other countries. byrnzie, fuck, yosi, catefrances, drownedout, badbrains, idris, etc and read the articles they posted and looked for links to those links and sources for those links that are reputable. lots of people on here have taught me a lot about a lot of topics. i just had to have an open mind about it because i knew that my media was doing me a disservice by being completely slanted one way or another. a guy called brandon10, commy, triumphantangel, el kabong, abookamongstthemany, and countless others who no longer come around were also crucial in me gaining an understanding about a lot of issues. use the posters on here. we are all here to learn something, and as we all know, most of us are more than willing to try to teach people about some things ;)

it is pretty sad when i have to read news sources from other countries to get information. american media is owned by corporations who have a stake in what gets reported. at least when i read other countries' new sources, i feel like there is maybe a little bit less corporate influence on them.

My main choice of news source outside of US media news info is Democracy Now.

Whatever news I get from my Twitter feed. If it interests me, I'll click on a link or do some research. Most doesn't interest me.
