So I'm watching the NASCAR countdown because I enjoy me some racin' and this country band is introduced. Brantley Gilbert performing their radio hit 'Small town throw down'.
The lead singer introduces the song and starts bouncing his arm up and down like a hip hop artist would…
Their banner has a pair of arms crossed giving the devil horns…
The lead singer has brass knuckles on his microphone…
One of the band members has dreadlocks… Dreadlocks in country music? I didn't know…
The song was pretty bad too. If this is any sign of things to come country will and should be a laughing stock. Kind of what the hair bands did to music in the 80's.
I've never seen a band try that hard to look tough…
If someone out there likes this band could you please explain to me "why"?
Thanks

Nu-country is atrocious, but is it any worse than watching a bunch of cars drive in circles at the same speed?
I was more interested in this new country phenomenon and how bad it is.
Further more, I can't explain NASCAR to the unenthused. Either you like it or don't. It's a tough sell for some people I know…
Please explain why people like this country band though...
This music is awful. I can only assume a lot of people like the Nickelback-esque guitars and the lyrics that are completely devoid of any thought provocation. I don't mind some basic music or even some country music, but modern country music is among the worst stuff I've ever heard. There are a few more talented guys, like Brad Paisley and Keith Urban, but some of their stuff is dumbed down b/c of the effect of this bro country shit.
