I would really like to be in the standing section for Wembley, if at all possible. Couldn't join 10 Club in time to get 'em.

My tix are for immediately behind the standing area, looking straight onto the stage over the heads of all the standees.
Section C2 Row 1 Seats 9 & 10

See here http://www.stargreen.com/images/venue/1.gif the seats A2,3,4 and B2,3,4 won't be there, of course. So you'll be right in front, effectively.

Anyway, I know it's a long shot, but had to ask.

Sorry kids, gotta bump. But only for a day or two, then I'll leave it alone.

I would be tempted, but how could I swap them as you have to collect them.

very long shot as those are not particularly good seats.. if you had them in S/N 6 or 8, then you might find takers, anything else will be farther than you'd be on the floor.

my 2c..(there's no seat or money that'd take me out of the pit personally anyway ;))

    From Theatre monkey.....
"In sections A and B there is no rake (sloped floor) so if someone tall sits in front, tough. Section C is raised by plinths - the first row about five inches above the 47 rows ahead of them.
##Moving back from the A and B sections comes section C. Split into five blocks - C3 the most central - the front three rows of Blocks C1, C2, C4 or C5 are the emergency fall back position The plinth raises you slightly above the poor souls in row 22 of block B. You may see the stage, though the performer looks like a large matchstick."

The seats may be in the first row of seating, but I doubt you will see much OVER the heads of the people standing... Hopefully you will be standing too.. maybe that little 5inch plinth will be enough for you to see over rows upon rows of 10C members! Don't think you will have many takers! :o

Yeah, I know, but I hadta ask. Maybe some new pregnancies turned up since peeps bought their tix...
You're right, those seats are a ways back from the stage, but so far as I can tell they are the front row of the seated section behind the standing. Thought some people might prefer seats that were front on to the stage, rather than the sideways ones which are sometimes a tad obscured. Also, being closer to the 10C guys there, rather than high up in the stands, you're more likely to get the atmos.
From memory I can't think how far back those seats are tho. Wembley Arena seemed to have shrunk the last time I went - remember seeing Radiohead there years back and you needed binoculars to get any view / atmosphere, tho we were about as far back as it's possible to get in the top corner. Swore I'd never have seats again, but failed to join 10C in time to get the standing. Anyway, I've seen Smashing Pumpkins and Foos there since and I was sure the place was smaller. Maybe I just got bigger!
Re: the post above. er, I'm not too sure about how the swap would work. Do you have something from 10C that will allow you to get your tix / wrist band on the day? I don't know exactly how they're working it, but I guess we'd have to hook up on the day and swap as you picked them up? No worries tho if you don't fancy it. Totally understand.

Should you be lucky to get 10C tix, swapping is no problem... 10C ticket person gets his/her tix/wristband, you guys find each other and make the swap... :D

Thanks RedRock dude. I guess the problem with the whole wristband thing is the chance they put it straight on you. So we'd need to do the swap of whatever before the band was applied.
Doesn't look like I'll need to worry about it tho!

and the only place I've been last year they were putting the wristband on you was Dublin..because it was the first one and a mess.
they can't/shouldn't do it because local people coming after work would be at a disadvantage.

Beside, I don't see why there would be a wristband at all in London since there's no early entry, the whole floor is 10c. So you just should get your standing ticket.

Oh, I'm not sure. Whenever I've been standing at W.A they always take your ticket off you and swap for a wristband on the door.

It weird reading that theatremonkey review, not sure, if they are row A of C2 how they could be bad seats. I will have a word with the other half and let you know.

Cheers matey. Just read the thread above about the tix collection routine for 10Cbers. They are handing out wristbands which I guess will go straight on the wrist so no chance for swaps I wouldn't think. Ah well, serves me right. Just have to hope we really can see over the heads of the 10C dudes. :-) If your OH would prefer the seats let me know and we'll see if it is possible to work something out on the day, but not to worry. If it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be. You guys will have a great time in the standing bit.

although if they're like festival wristbands they'll put them on you and you won't be able to get them off without breaking them...

nah, as we said, only in Dublin they were daft enough to put them on.
    it's London, people are working.
you might be there to pick up the ticket early but your mate might not be there until much later.
I'll fire an email to 10c just to be sure because I have 2 friends that are giving their 10c since they preferred seats  and managed to get decent ones.

because the seats are hardly elevated, thus you find yourself behind rows and rows of standing people...
Even if you stand, you are barely above all those in front of you.. no advantage really...
I guess the further back your seats are, the more on a 'slope' they are?

How was it daft to put them on? Its only right that you paid your money for the band, the least they can do is make sure you have your band stuck on ye.

I get your point Pegasus, that could indeed be a problem if you're collecting the wrist band for your plus one, so to speak. Hmmm. Let me know what 10C say, I'd be really interested. Tho, just curious - can totally see it'll be me and OH in row 1 section C2... !!

wristbands are so you can go out and have a pee or get a beer and then get back into the pit again, stops non-10c people from just walking in. hope they aren't going to be taking tickets off you when you go in like they have the last couple of times i've been to Wembley...

That does seem to be Wembley policy, but usually after the gig someone or a couple of people hands tickets back out to those who want 'em for memoribilia.

yeah, but why do they do it...? just adds a bit more extra hassle at the end of the show when you're thinking about how long the queue for the tube is going to be... ;)

Is Wembley always wristbanded for standing?

I think that they take tickets off people as I've been to shows at the Glasgoe SECC and folk go into standing then someone collects 4 standing ticket stubs goes out of the standing section, meets up with folk wanting to get in standing and distributes the ticket stubs so they can all get back in to standing.

Its a good trick but one that potentially carries major over-crowding risks

The few times I've been (before the refurb) all standing have wristbands put on and their tickets taken off them at the door.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

    yup, that's what they do.

i suppose it's them being doubly 'safe' but, if they rip off your "to be given up" ticket stub and slap on a wristband that can't be taken off without cutting, why do they have to take the "to be retained" part of the ticket off you as well ?

ah, wtf, so long as i get in i'm not going to complain :)
