Turntable issue

Hi.....I have a Stanton T.62 DJ Turntable........I have a Shure SC35C.......The Shure calls 4-5 grams......I have been playing it on 2 grams...anyone know if I am hurting my records?......Thanks

any higher than 4-5 i'd say you are hurting them. 2 you might not be getting as good of sound out of your records.
