Last Saturday, I attended the funeral of one of my former students who was the same age as my son. The family graciously included Joey in their beautiful service. Joey and Kristen shared a passion for drawing, lit up a room with their beautiful smiles, and touched many lives during their 13 years. I know that they are dancing, drawing and laughing together. May they both rest in peace.

Today is an extremely emotional one as Joey passed away two months ago and would have started middle school, while my younger son, Andy, became a fifth grader.
I know that my beautiful boy is watching over his brother, Mom and me, as well as his family, new friend, Kristen, and everyone who was lucky enough to know him.
I love and miss him so much.
A few days ago, a new and dear friend gave me a card with the following:
My Guardian Angel
Dear Angel ever at my side, how lovely you must be, to leave your home in Heaven, to guard a child like me.
When I'm far away from home, or maybe hard at play, I know you will protect me from harm along the way.
Your beautiful and smiling face, I see not, though you're near. The sweetness of your lovely voice, I cannot really hear.
When I pray, you're praying too; your prayer is just for me. But when I sleep, you never do. You're watching over me.
I hope Eddie will see this. What terrible to read, gave me goose bumps all over. Really sorry for your lost, wish we could do something more then this.
