***Please Play "Long Road" for My Late Son, Joey, Oct. 12 in Austin***

One month ago today on June 19, my son, Joey, passed away unexpectedly at age 13 due to complications from surgery he had on June 10.

My little force of nature had a beautiful smile, warm heart, irresistible laugh and sweet personality. Music played such an integral part of Joey’s life and my connection with him. He had taken up the drums in the past year and we attended a number of concerts together. Unfortunately, we never had a chance to see my favorite band, Pearl Jam, together.

In order to have something to look forward to, I am flying from Los Angeles to attend the Austin City Limits show on Sunday, Oct. 12.

If possible, I would greatly appreciate it if you would play "Long Road" and dedicate it to Joey on that date.

    if you think what I believe is stupid, bizarre, ridiculous or outrageous.....it's ok, I think I had a brain tumor when I wrote that.

    Thank you. Impossible to describe the pain and emptiness. Each day without my beautiful boy is more difficult than the previous one.

    "Long Road" was a personal song to me before this unspeakable tragedy occurred. It obviously has taken on a whole new meaning since.

    Sorry for your loss. I think it would be way cool if they didnt open with it but maybe opened up an encore with it or played it in the middle of the set.
