i was watching some youtube footage from recent shows and my question is how long has ed been playing the gibbons and how long will he continue to play them i wonder. also does anyone here use lollar pickups if so would you recommend the loller pickups

    IIRC, he only used Fenders on the last Euro tour in 2012. I think mostly Tele's playing with Pearl Jam and he used a white Strat when I saw him solo.

    He seems to flip flop between SG's and Strats - I think he only used SG's on Live at the Garden? Not sure I've ever seen him with a Les Paul.

    If I recall correctly, he was using the Gibson SGs back on the 2003 Riot Act tour, but he's been using the Fender Telecasters for the most part over the last decade (aside from the occasional appearance of his white Stratocaster and whatever else he used on his solo tours). He appears to have brought back the SGs for the latest Euro tour. He was using the Telecasters during the U.S. tour last year.

    Personally I like the "look" of the Telecaster more than the SGs, but ya know. What do I know? Regardless, they both sound good.

    there is a nice photo of ed with the gibson from june 29. i'm just use to seeing him with the tele i guess. myself, i would go with a les paul classic
