Similar to the Australian "G'day" ...."G'DIN-ya"
    ------------//////---------

Pulled two brief articles from Polish newspapers:

This one includes photos. It says the crowd was huge, and people were crazy excited for PJ. Also says that Ed spoke in Polish saying "hey, how are you feeling?" ("cześć. Jak się czujecie?") and later "It's a beautiful night. Cheers!" ("To jest piękna noc. Na zdrowie!") and also "I'm not drinking" ("Nie piję") right before taking a swig from his wine bottle.

Wow, a show for the masses with very little hardcore presence! That's kind of cool, actually.

Hi, my name is Kieran from Edinburgh, Scotland. I'm new around here so good to meet you all.

I was at Open'er last weekend. Queued from 6pm and waited all the way through MGMT to get pretty close. Some fans weren't exactly behaving brilliantly. For example, pushing through the crowd after MGMT finished to get to the front. During that time, six people chose to sit down causing me to balance myself for the next hour while some Polish guy was moaning at me in what is an alien language for me. I personally thought sitting down was pretty selfish. Nevertheless, as soon as PJ came on it was riotous. Very cramped with some careless people squashing. I tried to help some thoughtful others push back but that didn't help. Then Vedder warned the crowd after Corduroy which helped a tad. A very good festival set indeed and the crowd were with it all the way. Sore afterwards and sweating bad - merited a few quick pints! Almost got a tambourine off Eddie who actually signalled me for it but I got swamped by other taller people. Ah well, always tonight in Leeds which I'm currently on my way to. Enjoy to everyone is going!

    Thanks for your post!
I had a similar experience in Milan, people pushing (hard) from behind as soon as Go started... The very positive thing was that I suddenly was in the 3d row just in front of Stone :-D and fortunately I had 3 Scotsmen behind taking care of me standing like a shield! ;-) CHEERS!!

OK, so hi from somebody Polish!:) So as a represantation of Polish part of audience I wanted to say that it was my 4th Pearl Jam gig and first one in Poland. I came to the festival at 10 m and there was hardly 7 people queuing- it was kind of surprising after seeing all of you sleeping outside the venues for 3 days :) I got the first row on my left there was a rail and on my right a handful of crazy Polish fanclubbers;)
I agree with Kieran, there was a lot of things going on and people were pushing to the front, but I guess that this years Berlin was worse in this case, I was in second row at Stone side and I could hardly breathe and many many many drunk people were on the nearest part of the pit.
Coming back to Gdynia it was great that people started singing wit Eddie's technician, after 3 time she seemed a bit annoyed, but it was fun seeing her smiling for the first time:)

I was fooling around and decided to put on a worm hat and Mike noticed that at pointed at me, so I answered in worm-style waving my 'anthennas'. We also had a painted portrait of Andy and it seemed that Jeff appreciated it. Eddie threw the tambourine towards my side and I had it in my hand but due to my broken finger girl next to me was stronger and she caught it in both hands and took it. Lucky one!;)
Eddie was speaking a lot in Polish and I have to admit it was easy to understand him. He recognized some shirtless guy and said that he must have a 'huge ego, but probably a small...TOWN' and then they started playing Elderly woman. What was nice he introduced members of the band in Polish. He noticed that many people were going on a 'wave' and said that if they'll recognize someone who is doing it for more than second time they'll zip them in their tent and cut their penis off.
As far as I remember at Open'er 2010 when PJ was performing there were 60 000 people so I guess this time was more or less the same. it was fun having them in Poland a lot to remember. Have a couple of pictures when Eddie came down the rail and shook hands with mostly everyone.
Funny story, but the next day after the gig I met my friend who lives in Tricity (Gdynia Sopot Gdańsk) and we went for a walk. Whom did we came across- Eddie, Jeff and Boom. We approached them, but Ed only stayed with us, the others went to the van and I thanked him for taking my etching from Vienna and he did recognized me and he remember my work so I got a pick from him and we shook hands and then he left. What can I say seeing hangovered Eddie is superpriceless;)

So Jeff forgot his passport. The president of Gdynia was involved to solve the problem and Pilate was dedicated to him

Hello there, so I am a Pole and that the second time I attended Opener, 2010 being the first one. The worst show to the date audiencewise. That was the most violent and careless crowd. Was in the second row as the security girl decided to check me for nearly 3 minutes. PJ was great, the set list was much longer than I expected it to be.

'Go' from this bootleg sounds dreadful, both guitars sound out of tune during the verses and chorus. Sounds like someone didn't tune the guitars to Drop D properly. But I don't even know if this is a production fault or anything.

The audience sound just as good as they did when I was there, which is positive. Shame everybody can't see how malicious some people in the audience were.
