A THANK YOU-LETTER FROM A CROHN´S GUY.

Hey I´m Mathis and I´m from the north of Germany. With this letter I wanted to tell the Band and you guys what I´ve been through and what Pearl Jam means to me.
I´m 23 now and I got diagnosed with Crohn´s 13 years ago when I was 10. Then 8 years nothing really happened with that. It was okay. Kinda. I always knew PJ and around 2006 I grew into them. The Avocado hit me like a Truck. And Then I signed up here, bought all records and a couple Boots...Was diagnosed with PJ! Then 2009 happened. I got to hospital because of Crohn´s. It was emergency surgery and at first nobody knew how bad it would end up. When I woke up it was 10 Days later and I was still in intense care unit. I was in Coma for 9 Days and nearly died a couple times. When I woke up I wouldn´t speak or move. But I had PJ on my mind. In my head there were Alive playing over and over...some live version of it. And the huge croud chanting "ooohhh I´m still alive" over and over and over...And after 5 Months in Hospital in the end of 2009 I heard that Pearl Jam would be playing in Wuhlheide in 2010. That happened to be my first PJ show. It was a one of a Kind experience. I cried like a Baby and that strength this Gig and all the Fans gave me was incredible. Then It all went kinda well. Was regaining physical strength again. Then 2012 the next PJ-Berlin Shows. I couldn´t have been happier. I even had the Tickets allready! But Crohn stroke me and I couldn´t go. But this year I was able to go again. In the wheelchair but I was there!! It was incomparable. I hope they come back to Berlin since I can´t travel far. With this I wanted to thank the Band and let them know what their music and their whole relationship to their Fans means to me and how much strength it gives me. Since Mike got Crohn´s, too he showed me that it´s not the end of life and I´m thankful for every minute I can spend with their music. I hope someone from the band gets to read this.
