4th Werchter, Belgium, a very original request... BLACK! (never played before!)

... because it was never played the three previous times the band played here (2007, 2010, 2012) and it's the fourth most popular song in Belgium (while Ten is the most popular album of all time)!

Also, as can be seen on the setlists below, previous shows were very punkrocked, and they were AWESOME, but only showed one side of the Pearl Jam spectrum. I think the band has yet to discover the Belgian melodical soul (all Pearl Jam albums are very well known and liked here!).

So it's ok to:
- not play elderly woman for the fourth time, but to change it for LOW LIGHT, NOTHINGMAN, I AM MINE, OF THE GIRL and PRESENT TENSE
- not setting a record with a third comatose or third world wide suicide (seen them both 7 times, an 8th time, tempting but no thanks), but put in IN HIDING, GARDEN, DOWN, CROPDUSTER, DISSIDENT or UNEMPLOYABLE
- make it a 5 song all acoustic first encore (thinking maybe THIN AIR, OFF HE GOES, NOTHING AS IT SEEMS, LAST KISS, PARACHUTES) and end it with CHLOE DANCER / CROWN OF THORNS
- throw in some obscurity, like a BRAD cover of THE DAY BRINGS, a very popular song here (now i'm dreaming, i know).

These are just some random thoughts, really looking forward to that first atmospheric show at Werchter!

We did get Of The Earth though in 2010 but yes to a good selection of songs. Has Off He Goes been taken off the rota completely?

just bumping this thread with some facts about pearl jam and werchter festival:
- pearl jam should have played here in 1992 but because of illness they were replaced by smashing pumpkins, who were flown in at the last minute. The Pumpkins had their doubts of playing at the festival because Extreme was on the bill as well. They were afraid people back home would link them with the "more than words" band.
- in 2000 pearl jam were to play on sunday. Unfortunately on friday a tragedy occured in Roskilde so the band was replaced by Live
- in 2007 Josh Homme joined on stage for Baba O'Riley. Ed said you should never accept any pill Homme gives to you. (Homme gave Ed some herbal pill)
- in 2010 dave grohl and alain johannes joined the band on stage for kick out the jams, so members of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains were united on stage.

so a last bump before departure to that sacred festival ground. Two big hopes for the day: a great victory for belgium against argentina, and a superb singalong non punkrock pearl jam show!

Awesome you guys got Black! Shame you didn't get Garden, I remember on a tour in Belgium heading to Ypres, seeing all those cemeteries - it would be particularly poignant.

Yes! Thank you pearl jam, i lost count on how many times i heard it before but hearing it for the first time at the festival i visited since i was 17, like a virgin!
People loved it, thanks again, a very happy man!
