Why call them E-CIG?

I don't like the name. Yes electronic cig, but really thats got to be the name, sounds like I'm going to get LIP shocked. I think Im addicted to mine.
Maybe E-Nic, no ring to it i guess or E-Vape. Looks like thats the one.
I have been LIP shocked it sucks haha
