Live at Daryl's House

Anybody watch this show? Basically famous musicians just go out to Daryl Hall's(Hall and Oates) house and jam out some of their bigger tunes. Just really cool and gives you a deeper appreciation for the talent that some of these guys possess. Really dig the Billy Gibbons and Joe Walsh episodes, but there are several more that are killer from musicians I previously had no interest in. And Daryl Hall is a ridiculous talent.

I'd like to watch it but it comes on Palladia and I don't get that channel.

It's a great show, and Daryl Hall is super talented. I think the Joe Walsh and the Todd Rundgren episodes are my favorites so far.

I have heard about this. From what I have read it's a great show.

Darryl Hall is a wonderful musical talent but if you aren't a product of the 80's then you most likely won't watch this. I haven't seen an episode but I will look for the Gibbons episode because I think ZZTop are musical geniuses too.

There is a show called "Guitar Moves" that might interest you too. Youtube it.

    Thanks for sharing!

It's a shame, if people really do avoid the shows b/c of the 80s thing. I haven't seen all or even most of the episodes, but what I have seen is cool.

The Gibbons shows is sweet and he plays an amazing SG....some custom pinstriping and vibrola without the cover so you can see the innards.

I've seen the Guitar Moves episode with Josh Homme. Pretty cool and different from the standard Homme interview where's he's being sarcastic and jokey, which I can appreciate, but it's nice to get some incite on a guy who's generally pretty secretive about his approach and gear. I'll definitely check others.

Some other cool online series are Secrets of the Sound and Tiny Desk Concert. Both can be found pretty easy on youtube.

Pretty sure they get shown here before they make it to tv.

Ha, that's the tricky thing. If you did grow up in the 80's you might not watch it either because you might think Hall is just a washed up pop star. He isn't, of course, but I know preconceived notions are tough to overcome. I think the shows can appeal to fans of all eras. He recently did one with the Neon Trees for something more modern, and had Toots Hibbert (and as mentioned Todd Rundgren) for some of the older generations (like me). These shows definitely showcase the artists, but also show that Hall is extremely versatile and very talented.
