They will probably alternate. I don't think we'll know until the first show who will be on first.
No longer overwhelmed it seems so simple now.

Count on there being collaboration. Ed LOVES to sing with other bands. Are you kidding? He's recently gone on with MMJ, played with the Strokes at the Rolling Stone party, he always went on with Sleater Kinney and let's not forget the awesome collaborations during the Vote for Change Tour.

They will collaborate. I'm guessing Won't Back Down for sure.
We're still making records for people who listen to it all the way through, eyes closed, in that space.

PJ gets an hour and a half, how long do you guess that Tom will play? Same amount followed by collaboration?

You can count on some collaboration for both shows. Those of us at the last Gorge show will recall the "Come down Tom" request. Well, Tom never did come down so I think they will make it happen this time. Eddie was asked about this in last month's KISW interview and said that he would have to discuss it with Tom when the got to St. Paul.

Although it would be sweet if they swapped who opened each night, it is being billed as Tom's show and he is the elder. I actually like the fact they haven't really come out and said exactly how it going to go down.

See you all in the first row....or not. Should be a blast regardless.

the shows are part of Petty and the HB's 30th anniversary tour - he is doing other portions of the tour with other big-name bands - Trey Anastasio and the Allman Bros. Rumors for the third leg have been John Mayer and the Strokes. Everything I have read has said 90 minute sets for each band - i would be extremely disappointed if they don't finish together doing something. these shows will be awesome in their own way - but for the die-hard PJ fans who don't care for Petty it might be a night to pass up. for those of us who love both bands it's a dream team-up.
