Man of the hour

I know this is not a unique story but it is our story..... My husbands father, John, passed away at 23.55 on the 9th of June 2014 after what I can only describe as a long and brave fight. Five days later my broken hearted husband stood in front of a full church and told them all about his role model and idol, his father. I have never been so proud of him as I was that day. At the end of his eulogy he lifted his head high and said...

'Now the man of the hour
Has taken his final bow
As the curtain comes down
I feel that this is just
Goodbye for now'

I know you probably get so many requests and will never read this but I need to ask.....can you sing 'man of the hour' at your Vienna concert in June. Myself and my husband, Anthony are travelling from Ireland to see you in Vienna. Amanda x

    Thanks Nick.
  • If you do not cry at the Final Scene in Big Fish, you are not human. Such a beautiful moment at a very sad time in a persons life. I really hope you get this. Sorry for your lose.

Thanks. Sure there is no harm in trying. We will enjoy the concert either way. My husband is the fan and introduced me to their music when we met 20 years ago. I thought I was being subtle using my husband's login to put the request on the forum and hoping that he would not see it. We were having a chat earlier today over a cup of tea and he told me he received an email about the comments that arose from the post I put up. So I have discovered subtle is not my strong point :-) He went on to give me the playing statistics......played 45 times live and last play was last October in Baltimore. So you never know we might get lucky. If not I 'll have to sing it for him on the way home :-)
