small toes dance through damp clouds at dusk
nightgowns and fireflies hover in twilight mists
laughter a distant echoing shadow foreboding
cedars crowd about the fire for stories to hear
a new rhythm begins as her head turns
catching a glimpse, the ghost of dreams
fingers losing grip , memories she can't remember
into tomorrows sun fading with the gentle beat of lost drums
first light roots itself into mother
