close your eyes
have a dream
from the basement of where
I'm not sure if we should be here

with the sun rising
and it being night out still
snow on the petals
digging them out will cause poppies for sale

or
giant hydrants to paint
gowns with bonnets to wear
up all night just to
dance on your dad's shoes

see I'm still spinning on some cycle
of an old night
where home is just where you
are taken back to

Like a card dream in a dark kitchen
knocking down too
