How well can you recall your Pearl Jam concert related experiences?

I am getting older than I would like to admit. But, I was able to recall at least one simple story from each of the past concerts I had attended, I was proud and I think my brother was amazed too. He was also in some of those smokey vans of the 1990's. :)>-

I can remember most shows if I really think hard. For some reason, the 4 shows I saw in '06 and '08 (2 each year) really blend in together and I can't distinguish one from another in my memory. Probably because they were all at the Camden, NJ waterfront. The '06 shows were in May and the '08 shows were in June. Same time of year, great weather for all of those shows, I believe.

Other than this group of shows, I can remember each one pretty distinctly.

Very well. The bootlegs help, but I can recall the '95 Austin show (my first) like it was yesterday.

I've got a head full of wonderful PJ concert memories. I also keep a concert scrap book to help boost my memory as I age.

There might be a couple that are hard to recall details, but I can tell you a few details about almost all of the 42 I have been to, going back to 1996.

I have a scrapbook as well...just little things to jog the memory of the trip and the show. I travel to see the band, so I've got to experience some great cities as well as great shows.

I really wish I would have done this. There are a few of the 25 I've been to that I will always remember very distinctly (my first show in '98, VA Beach '00, Spectrum '03, Atlantic City '05, Spectrum '09 shows, and PJ20) but there are probably a dozen that I only kind of remember. I know I was there, I may remember a few songs, but not too many specifics.

I shoulda kept a scrapbook! And the ticket stubs!

yea I've got the memory of a goldfish. The little things I remember have very little to do with the performance.

That is pretty good. When sitting through boring lectures I used to write out lists of every song I've ever heard live, opening songs, and venue names. Out of 53 venues I could probably name 50 of them without any problem.

Did the same list with Godfather characters to pass the time.

Date is incredible though. WOuld have a real tough time.

I have a shit memory but I know that so my last couple of tours I've taken a notebook with me & noted details down on the night, or morning after the show. Ha ha. Geek I know. You know details like where I was standing/sitting, who I was with & just any other particularly stand out things. I also, ahem, have google docs of such things. B-)

If I really think, I can pull something from every individual show. The shows 2-in-a-row at the same venue are a little blurry. If I have the bootleg, I am golden. (I'm looking at you PJ20.... was such a good trip and I barely remember it cause there is no bootleg! :-w )

1996,2000, and 2004...no memory at all. 2006,2008 bits and pieces. Shockingly, I recall most of the "experiment" in 2003. 2009-present, I remember every second. Learned in my old age to stay (fairly) sober :)

  • All 15 or so quite well. Course I never got wasted on anything at those shows & I'm weird because I remember intense details from years past.

1996 is a long time ago for me. Didn't PJ have a van following them around doing radio shows around that time?

I can sort of remember little bits... like the feeling of being at that show. I have the complete opposite of a photographic memory so I guess thats ok. Some shows are hard to remember a little more than others (usually when two shows occured back to back in the seattle), but for the most part I can remember a little bit. Some shows stand out alot more than others for me (all 3 '98 shows I remember, of the 5 '00 shows I saw, portland is the one i have hardest time remembering....) etc..

Yup. I'm normally a bit of a booze hound at concerts, lol, but I've never had anything to drink before or during a PJ show...... Although I'm sure it will probably happen one of these days because of peer pressure at some preparty, haha. :P

I can remember all of them with the exception of the 2009 Spectrum shows. Those four kinda blend together.

My first show was at the Boston Garden in 1994. I remember where we were in the building, how blown away I was hearing Release open a show for the first time, how impressed I was with their very simple stage presentation, and how almost everyone in the building seemed to know almost every word to almost every song.

Other details escape me now. Looking over the setlist, I don't remember every song. But I do remember loving that night.

  • My first and only PJ concert so far was KC 2010, and I remember it pretty vividly. Ed introducing God's Dice, singing Happy Birthday, Curt Tomasevicz playing bass on Yellow Ledbetter, Ed playing No More to Thomas Young. But nothing will trump seeing two people fight during Porch.

certain shows I can recall more than others. I stopped drinking at PJ shows, my limit is 2, so that helps big time. watching video or listening to a boot really jogs the memory though.

    Remember the most: Pittsburgh 2013
Least: Both Camdens blended together 2008

Drank way too much at the Toronto show in 2009. I remember the awesome opening solo sets well, but the show itself after that is a blur. Listening to the boot there are entire stretches I don't remember at all. Never again.
