Yellow Ledbetter as an opener?

Wouldn't it be a great surprise to all in attendance for Mike to start out with that lick to open a show? This may draw some ire, but I'm sick of seeing them close with this. Just my opinion.

It's more of an anthem, which is better placed at the end. It's like McCartney playing Hey Jude to start a show- it just wouldn't work.

I think they should play Yellow Ledbetter BEFORE playing Rockin, Baba, Porch or whatever. The energy in the building after Baba is AMAZING and it dies right out during YLB.

I guess that was kind of my point - it seems to take the wind out of whatever they'd spent two hours creating. It just kind leaves you on a down note - it's too predictable. Great song, but I think they could be a bit harder to pin down after all these years.

I thought the way they did it last year at the Gorge was fantastic. Yellow Ledbetter followed by Baba.

This isn't my quote, but someone in the pit once said that YL is like the cigarette after a 3 hour fuckfest.

While I agree with that, I'd love to see it open a show. And I'll go a few steps further and say I'd love it if PJ played a bizarro set list and reversed the order.

YL opens, then RITFW, then Leash .... and Release closes the show!

    Now that would ROCK!
