Lennon was always in a different, and superior, league.

I've read way too much about the beatles and i have to disagree... you know all those cool wee tape loops and stuff on beatles songs.. Macca was the instigator of a shitload of the Beatles 'sound'.. he was into avant-garde german music before it became 'cool' in fact he made it cool... he was the first London Beatle and was a regular at art galleries, book launches whereas John was making a bowl of Frosties last 4 hours whilst monging in front of the telly.

he gave so much to John's songs its hard to believe... The Ballad of John and Yoke for instance is John singing and rhythm guitar... Macca played and composed every other instrument on that song, drums, bass, lead guitar!!!

he's a musical genius and if he had been shot in 1980 the feelings between Lennon/McCartney would have been reversed.. Lennons solo stuff was not even half of Macca's sales until his death...

all that aside i love them both equally but for differing reasons for each guy... there is no Beatles without either of them and thats what makes them integral to each other.

Sir Paul: 'I'd prefer it if you called her Heather'.

I am so with you on this! And "Baby I'm Amazed" is an amazing song!! Can't forget about that! (I'm listening to it this moment!) The thing about creative genius and synergy is that it can bring about some serious magic! They were two different yet brilliant men in each their own right.

Wait....am I even "allowed" in this thread???

John (jaymac) who just came back from Quebec passed on some traditional music from way over there. A band called Mes Aieux (sorry.. I don't have the accents). Loving them (but I do like that kind of music)....
