hey got some good news , my dad walked 3 meters , he was in some thing that took his weight and he moves in lil dolly steps , but he was sooooooooo happy the nurses n that were cheering and clapping him ! cool
I going down again on 16th ! really dont know what to get him for christmas tho. still no use of his hands ... makes it tricky !

Yay for V's dad!!! That IS good news!!!!! When you say 'no use of his hands'.. is that completely? Or can he press a button with a finger or something? Because maybe talking books.. either on a CD if he can use a walkman or something or record it on a simple MP3 player where it is easy to start and stop..... just a thought.

yeah my brother and i were just talking about a DAB radio, umm no he cant use fingers but they strap a band to his wrist which can hold things like a pencil or spoon so he can feed himself (u have no idea how wired that sounds !! my dad was a young 63 yr.)

but yes ur right audiobooks ! i think he is a lil board likes to think he's interlectual. says the other ppl in the living room are painful to chat with so he has asked for an electric wheel chair to escape when he wants hahahaha , now THat sounds like my dad hahahaha

Hmmm maybe a nice cushion or blanket to make his time in hospital feel more cosy/homely. We found one for my dad when he had a bad back that said "Grandfathers are a blessing of love a gift from above" (which we took to mean the universe) think it was from Past Times but that was a few years ago

I saw something about the tornado when I was at the shop :eek: scary stuff. I saw a tornado on my way home from work one day last year. It ripped the roof of some houses and turned cars upside down and stuff like that :eek: . We shouldn't be getting them in this part of the world. i will get it all next week . going to make some big pictures with the kids , glittery and cut out prints of them to stick on his walls (mum said the room was really dull) sadly he doesnt quite have my humor cos i keep thinking of singing christmas trees , sensor activated !! but he'd hate it hahaaha

Rob's grandma got one when she was 90 years old or so. Bloody menace, she was with that..thought she was a grand-prix driver or something!

exactly...might as well watch a DVD...better sound (on my setup), you can pause for the loo and the beer is cheaper! and no obnoxious drunks around!

seriously, I've only ever been once at a stadium-size gig...and will never do so again...hell not being within the first 20 rows of the floor or right by the stage o the side is pointless to me..even Arenas are too big (though I have the skills to make my way up there on GA )
