Yep, I think we're just about ready for the boot today :)

The Astoria was sooooo special for what it was but I actually think Dublin was even better.

I've been ready for the boot since last Thursday morning! FLAC is gonna take a while to download though..

Dublin was amazing... but Astoria takes it for me... smaller venue, first time... 3rd encore, etc.. just downright amazing!!!!

Unless you're really fucking drunk :p

Yep, but that's what I mean... the Astoria will ALWAYS be the most special for those of us who saw them for the first time there. BUT I think Dublin was actually better in different ways. I think the band and the set list were better and the whole experience, padded barrier, nice security. I dunno how to explain it so I'm just gonna leave it at that
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!

I agree....although Dublin had a better set list on the whole, the Astoria was much more special...hearing the songs for the first time, the whole crowd being so into it from the people on the barrier to those leaning against the bar at the back.

There was no moment in Dublin to rival the likes of Elderly Woman at the Astoria or the cheer that greeted the 3rd encore only to be surpassed by an even louder cheer when the opening chords of Alive rang out

 What were ya doing in blanch???? I live close enough to there. There were quite a few in Easons in O'Connell St yesterday but I thought I'd wait and see who needs them. Although they were priced in Sterling (I fuckin hate that shite so I gave out about it :D . It's not our currency) so I reckon they're on the way to the UK anyway.

    I work in blanch...they were €6.12 each :D

By the way....Dublin was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than the Astoria

Okay, I admit that the combination of Black and Indifference did come very close to the chill factor.

I'm not going to go into it all again, but circumstances did put a dampner on the Dublin show for Gen and I, and I think had that not happened we would have had an even better time than we did, though I still don't think it would have surpassed Astoria.

It takes a combination of everything to make a great gig for me, not just how great the band were.

Ah you work in blanch??? You should hang on some day and we'll get a drink.

It was 6.12 in O'Connell st. too. That's why I complained. Even though I knew the price was in sterling cos it had the £ on it i don't give a fuck what price it is over there... just tell me what fucking price I have to pay for it

Yep, I think black on the boot will be a moment for me. I'm definitely gonna have to be on my own for that one.

Yeh sorry Jim I forgot about all that. but don't worry, like I said , the Astoria will never be beaten for those of us who saw them for the first time there :o

For me thats what made it my best PJ experience....taking the day off work...spending quality time with my daughter (that still sounds weird)....getting the train and texting everyone....meeting up in the pub beforehand and meeting all these cool people....taxi over to the point....waiting to get into the point...getting a t-shirt and a poster....starting with inside job.....black....education....indifference....BABIT....the pit (how nice everyone in the pit was to each other.....second row....Byrnzies vid of me shout obscenities at eddie and mike....waking up the next morning and realising that I was gonna see the again the following day....MAGIC :D

lol...don't worry, you've no need to be sorry.

I just don't want folk thinking that we thought the band weren't good cos we didn't, we thought they were ace.

Emma (Wash) said afterwards that she had thought Dublin was better than the Astoria too, but for the reasons we thought London was better.

Gen is kinda kicking herself for not letting herself enjoy it as much as she should have, and she feels like she needs to make it up to me she says....I caught her to spend £400 of her savings to get us to the Paris show next week the other day, but I couldnt let her do that.

Anyway...it looks likely we'll have a chance to enjoy them again in the New Year :)

...okay, I'm back to work now....hellish day, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong

I do like to see what it is in sterling cause that way we can see how much we're being ripped off  £3.50 is actually €5.19 so we're paying almost a euro extra to fucking easons

just another normal day in Al's world of gross incontinence :)

i didnt mean to start an argument.. i was just giving my reasons for Astoria being 'better'... they both had brilliance all over them, just in different ways.. Astoria is a special memory, but Dublin had the better setlist (and hopefully a fucking bootleg)

but all in all.. Astoria as an 'event' takes it for me... I think for Hellsy and others the fact it was in their home town might be a nice thing as well... i cant wait for Glasgow 2007 ;)
