  • WOW... just watched the match in a room full of racists... never heard the n******** or w** words used in all seriousness before... am a little bit shaken. Gona watch the rest of the footie at home I think

    Oh eek :?

Are you ok? That can't have been nice... but don't let it put you off watching the footy in a pub... maybe next time pick a more family orientated place?

I've worked in a pub when the world cup's been on before, you do learn to tune out the small-minded bigoted twats... not that you should have to...
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

I watched it in a house with 'some' friends and some others... it was the others. I can't and won't tune them out... I really don't wanna watch it with anyone again, unless it's just Simon  I've really never been in a situation like that before.. I said my pieces but it was still very very very strange and not a situation I'm ever gonna place myself in again :( . I was even planning on supporting England a little bit tonight.

Thank the heavens above there is still F1 to watch amongst all this footy.

Sian... She is lovely. Gabrielle went to her place first, so she knew they got along. She does like cats but........ she is allergic (a slight allergy)! Besides the flags which still surprise her, she is getting on with 'english' things. Had a cream tea yesterday (which she loved!) and a full english breakfast this morning (which was a bit more difficult for her!) Today they are off with another friend and her frenchy to Kew Gardens then the carnival (part of the week-long) Twickenham festival.

Sasha - there is a meet up but I'm not too sure which thread the details are on. You can try the Dublin 2010 thread maybe? Or someone here will be able to tell you a bit later!

Get the 748 bus from Dublin Airport to Heuston (costs €6), the bus will stop beside there on Eden Quay (the driver will be able to help you out if you're totally lost). When you get off the bus, walk along the river the same way the bus is going, you'll get to Wellington Quay in a few footsteps :) If there's more than 3/4 of you, it'll cost the same to just get a taxi.
