I've seen them twice now - absolutely cracking! My dad is a huge fan so we've taken him the last two years for his Xmas pressie - always amusing to see your dad sloshed on the Black stuff trying to Irish dance in the middle of Newcastle Arena and shouting "Bastards" every two minutes!!!!
Last year they were supported by the Dropkick Murphys - one of my fave bands and the first time I've been able to "see" them - every other time I've seen them was at the Uni and I'm too short to see the stage but at the arena it's high up so I got a good view! Don't think my dad and uncle were that impressed - I think my uncle said something about never having seen instruments abused in such a way before! Classic!
First time I saw the Pogues was 1991 in Harlow town park of all places. It's the crappy chav town I grew up in and the Pogues played just a couple of months before they first broke up. I didn't really know their stuff at the time but after that show I was hooked. There was a great party atmosphere about it, with people dancing in the stream in front of the stage and beer flying everywhere. I've never looked back.
‘HH - sorry didn't ring you - couldn't get my phone to recognise your number?! Oh what it would have been to escape the shopping! We'll arrange a night out when I'm over there at the beginning of August with my best mate, Bridget, her hubby and my ginga boyf!’
Lol, that’s ok foxy. I was thinking that yesterday – that I shoulda got you to text me or something before hand – just testing the number to make sure I gave ya the right one and you took it down right. Sometimes I give my number to people and I’m halfway through it before I realise it’s completely wrong . So we’ll test it before you come the next time, ok?
‘it's ridiculous all the bank holidays you/they get!!’
Buru, you can never get enough bank holidays
‘I wonder if the Americans are aware of the fact that the American leg of the tour is merely Pearl Jam practicing for Dublin??’
I doubt it byrnzie, they’re not the most ‘aware’ bunch . Sorry newagehippie not you obviously.

Oh shit, yeah flights. I need to book them. Damn I forgot over the weekend
And those trains
What airport is best for you to fly from? I know most people check ryanair and easyjet for cheap flights but I've always found bmi to be just as cheap so they may be worth a look aswell.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

Oh yes, train as well
Yeah I have found a cheap Ryanair flight to Dublin but the trouble is, it flies from London and that is two hours away, so I still have to get to the airport :( The nearest airport to me apparently doesn't do Ryanair or Easyjet flights to Dublin

Heh. Cheers for that mate... I'm a bit too modest to dangle that fact out there myself.
