That's what I'm thinking and if that's not the case then there's something rotten in Seattle. I have a feeling though that it's not the case. With technology getting as good as it is, there should be a tiered lottery system. Instead of letting everyone get tickets to how many number of shows right up front, they should limit the shows for the first to one per member. You can prioritize the ones that you want to enter the lottery for, but the first round should be one show per member so that each member gets a fair chance to attend at least one show.rocco725 said:
Thanks! That tells me that anyone with Minneapolis reserved as their first choice will win.madsea said:MKE first and STP second
Then after the first round all remaining 10C tickets can be disbursed in the current fashion with every one given the same chance to land tickets to multiple shows. Just an idea, but it might help curb some of the grumbling.
Of course, there will always naysayers. Oh well.0 -
Yeah, not sure...I asked for reserved. So, it is possible that if you only asked for GA in MN, there weren't any available. Or, it could be that I was incredibly lucky and got 2nd choice. I don't think they ever said that once you get first choice that the second choice drops off...0

The wording is vague as always and open to interpretation.
Why is a random drawing needed if 2,000 people put MN Reserved as first choice and there were 2,000 pairs of tickets. In that scenario, all first choicers would get tickets and none would be left for 2nd choicers.
I don't know the level of sophistication of their software, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that some people will get tickets to their 2nd and 3rd choices while others who had those same options as first choice get shut out. From what I can gather, this isn't supposed to be the case, but again, the wording is vague.0 -

I know it does...that's sort of my point. If someone has won MN Reserved and they had it as their second priority, then everyone with MN reserved as their first priority theoretically should have gotten tickets, no?bootlegger10 said:

Or do I not understand the lottery system? For instance, are they only giving out 50% of the reserved tickets to those that put it as their first priority and then giving the rest out to others who have it lower on their priority list? That seems foolish, but I don't know.

Damn, this isn't that hard to understand.
For every selection (2 for every city - 1 for GA, 1 for Reserved), they go through and randomly pick winners for everyone that had it listed as their 1st choice. If you had that selection as your 1st choice and you're not picked, then you don't get that selection. If more tickets are available than the number of people who listed as the 1st choice, then everyone who listed as a first choice wins.
Then they move on to 2nd choices if there are any left over after selecting all of the 1st choices. They go through and randomly pick winners out of everyone that had that selection listed as their 2nd choice.
Then 3rd choices, etc..., etc... etc....
It will certainly be possible for people to win their 3rd or 4th choices and not get their 1st, all depends on supply and demand for individual shows/ticket selections and the luck of the draw.0 -
That's how I understand it as well. People can lose on their first priority and win further down the line.
But as I surmised above is someone wins MN Reserved as their second priority then everyone who listed MN Reserved as their top priority will have gotten tickets.0 -

Yes...If someone get MN Reserved with their 2nd priority then that SHOULD mean that everyone that has MN Reserved as 1st priority gets tix...simple. If this is not the case then something is drastically wrong. The whole purpose of prioritizing would be defeated.Cooter said:That's how I understand it as well.
