I've read that artists actually get most of the $$ from ticket sales. Average of 74%. Here is a decent article (2011) of the breakdown. http://www.wisebread.com/how-much-a-breakdown-of-concert-ticket-pricesZod said:What's the overhead on concerts? If the average arena holds 18000 people. $500000/18000 is only $27.78/ticket that they retain? That doesn't seem like much at all. What happens to the other $50?
But of course "the artist" includes everyone they employ as well - crews, club employees, managers, etc etc etc - as well as equipment and travel expenses and all that shit. Not sure about security.... who non-specialize security at a venue? Is it the venue who covers that?
