I love the way you think! I haven't tried the challenge by myself but I split it with my brother and I was plenty full by the end. I'm trying to convince the soon to be new wife (wedding is Oct 4) to swing through Waterloo/Cedar Falls to see some of her friends. That's my leverage to make the trip happen! :))

Good question! I don't know much about the area but I'll talk with her and get back to you. I did see that Northern Iowa is playing South Dakota St. in football. UNI actually has a pretty good football program.

There's lots to do here in the TC. Avoid the Mall of America at all costs, unless you hate yourself. Then have at it, hands down the worst place ever.

I take that back, second worst. The hands down winner is it's neighbor, IKEA. I'd rather get hit in the junk with a hammer for an hour than go there.

Oh. Now read this. She may be better at this than you. >:)

Now be sure to leverage the awesomeness of seeing PJ. She'll likely down play to get more but she will ultimately relent. You should easily get one more man event. Really have to establish how uncomfortable you are at shopping. Double credit. Establish early.

Oh my girl may read this!?!?

Babe, you know malls make me nuts, hey we're going to see pj in fall !!!!. :D

IMHO, Much better "mall" here: http://www.minneapolis.org/shopping/nicollet-mall
It may not have as many stores as MOM. But it's downtown, outside, active, has better bars & restaurants. Plus, you can sneak off to Loring Park or The Walker Art Musem. MOM is basically a tourist trap...you'll walk out saying "this is just like our mall back home, except bigger".

Fun fact: Southdale Center in Edina, MN the United States' oldest fully enclosed, climate-controlled mall. It's still better than the MOM. At least you can find your car.

If you really wanted to be clever, you can take the train from the MOM to downtown Mpls for like $2.50. "Have fun shopping, babe! Meet me back here in 6 hours?"

Pub Crawl! The fine folks of the "Please play MN" thread will give you a great tour of the twin cities, via local watering holes. Depending on people's preferences, we can cover both Minneapolis and St. Paul, which are easily connected by lightrail. Would be great to cover a few breweries for craft beer enthusiasts, some places with good food options, and a chance to familiarize yourself with the area around Xcel where PJ will be rockin the next night!

Details to come, but I can guarantee it will beat watching jerparker20 get hit in the junk with a hammer for an hour!

    Sorry to disappoint.
