I made it to St Louis and we got tickets to Moline for tomorrow. I am so excited. Can't wait. I will say St. Louis was my first show and I am so upset with myself that it took me this long to go. I'm 38. Where the hell have I been. I guess it happens, life happens and we get caught up and forget to take time to do us in the moments we should. I am now making up for them.

Release into Oceans must have been incredible. I was happy to get both in one night at Brooklyn last year but back to back to open the show is insane.

Can anyone disagree that the detroit show was the show of the tour thus far and most likely the show of the entire leg? Once I heard that there were three posters I knew something big was going down. Not to mention the setlist. First release of the tour and then straight into oceans. Are you kidding me? Epic show last night.

I can't definitely know the Detroit was a great show just like you can't definitely know that cinci was a great show. I mean for all I know you could be the rat.

We just got back from Detroit, stayed the night after the show. WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! From the time they "appeared" on stage, pure magic!!!! Opened with Release, Couldn't believe it. But then played Black Red and Yellow!!!! WOW, could've knocked my ass right over when that started!!!! Couldn't believe they played it! (don't think they have in 4 years?) The crowd at the Joe was amazing! Thought between the band and the applause the damn Joe was going to come down! Thank you Pearl Jam, what a show!!!! And thanks for black red and yellow!!! My only problem, my phone puked during black red and yellow, sure hope someone got it and posts it. The fans were unbelievably fun and nice! We had GA and we were 2 people behind the rail in front of Eddies mic. I seriously can not think of words that can accurately describe the experience! just Magical!!

My first ever Pearl Jam concert was last week in Detroit. All I can say is that rarely does an event live up to - or exceed - expectations. Good lord, they exceeded any and all of my expectations. Just amazing. Release into Oceans into Nothingman to start the show? I was overwhelmed. Can't wait to do it again!

Wow what an amazing first show! It was my second. I loved the outro/improv at the end of Black, and turned to my boyfriend and yelled "SOUNDS LIKE SPLIT ENZ!". If you listen to the chorus of their (very melancholy) song "I hope I never" it really sounds like he's singing "I hope I never. I hope I never have to see you, again..." Growing up in Australia I heard a lot of NZ music and have loved Split Enz forever. Yeah I think there's some Enz improv at the end of this song :)
check out the end of the chorus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAUUY_Nvcu8
  • Options
ps: meant to add prior to the split enz lyrics I hear "I belong to someone else. you belong to who knows [where?]. all's well that ends well..." then "I hope I never..."

I want to echo this sentiment. Moline was by far the best surprise I could have gotten with them playing my favorite album. Milwaukee was my 10 year olds first show, and even though he was the one to ask to go (not forcing my likes on my son), I was nervous that he wouldn't enjoy it. Oh, how wrong I was. We had a fantastic time, from waiting in line for merch (he was seriously geeked out to get a poster) to having dinner at Safe House (loved the atmosphere) to the show itself. He had a few moments where I could tell he was getting tired (way past his bedtime), but the kid rocked on, and now wants to listen to more Pearl Jam, and has been coming up to me singing Faithful, Mind Your Manners, Sirens, and DTE. Just a great two shows. Can't wait for the next time!
