I wonder if the person buying thought they were getting an official version.

    That's a lot for a bootleg

Ya I agree, but at the same time it's less than half of what the original is

No way would I pay that price. I wanted the Soldier Field record until I noticed tons of other colors popping up. It will be hard to tell an OG from a new one soon. It's just a matter of time before there is a remake of the OG color if it hasn't already happened.

My thing is it's going to be sourced from CD with probably pretty questionable mastering. CD sourced vinyl makes no sense to me vs. getting something that's analog sourced from the master tapes. If it's CD sourced you may as well listen to the CD as there's no way the vinyl is going to sound superior to the CD since it's sourced from the CD.

It must be, the bootlegger doesn't have access to the master tapes.

    Flame suit on...but...

    I've heard on vinyl...
    Ten
    VS
    Vitalogy
    Avocado
    Backspacer
    Live On Ten Legs
    Lightning Bolt

I wouldn't consider any of them to have great "mastering"...even the Ten Redux. And I'm not sure PJ has recorded anything "analog" since the first few albums.

I'm in the camp of vinyl sounding better even if it is digitally sourced, but I definitely wouldn't pay $100 more for an original over a bootleg if I needed to have Avocado on vinyl.

Even if they don't have the master tapes, they could of just taken a clean Avocado vinyl copy and transfer it to 24bit 192kHz audio. Edited & cleaned it up and then pressed it on this blue vinyl.

I have an original Soldier Field set Vinyl, the double cd, and the poster all sealed except the cd it was never sealed, would this be a fair trade for a sealed benny?

Bootleggers. Ahem we need Benny next.

Shocked none of these bootlegging warehouses haven't attempted to make one already.

24 bits seems like a lot of bits to press onto some wax.

    I would not.

How do you know that the Bootleg is an OG? Plus I don't think anyone would trade a boot for an official. Price is off by a few hundred dollars also.

    CD=100, Record=3-400. Benny=1000

Do these bootlegs not have a UPC barcode on them?

Did any of the original Avocados not have the barcode sticker on them?

Better to use a 24bit audio source pressed on vinyl then using an MP3 or CD audio pressed on vinyl.

I haven't bought it but by all accounts the Avo vinyl boot sounds fantastic. From reports its appearing at record fairs around Europe for anything from EUR35-50

I kinda want one just to look at, but I hate supporting counterfeit/pirated items.

Starting price of $50 bucks "used" for a bootleg? Totally not worth it. Found one new & sealed for $40 bucks CDN.

Just play patience. These will soon make their way to your local USA / Canada record stores. They always do.
