Jack White and Third Man Records

Just listened to Lazaretto and High Ball Stepper and was blown away. I'm a casual fan of White Stripes and other bands he's been associated with, but if this is how he sounds solo, I'm hooked!

Was looking at the Third Man subscription service. Anyone here a part of that? Is it worth it?

I'll be going to Nashville next month for a work conference. Is Third Man something to see? Should I head over there and check it out? What else is
Cool to do in Nashville? The company is already holding events at the Country music hall of fame and the Wildhorse saloon, so maybe something less country?

I just visited Nashville First week of June.
Third Man records is cool. I thought it was worth going. It's very small, so don't ecpect more than a gift shop with stuff on the wall. My biggest regret of the trip is not recording something to vinyl. There is a little phone booth recording studio in the gift shop. $15 for a 45 record of whatever you say/play/sing. There were several people waiting in line with guitars (I was there the week of Bonnaroo). It's kinda a sketchy neighborhood, atleast that's what my group thought, I didn't have a problem with it. They had the Lazaretto record playing so we saw the Angel hologram, etc. But it was the day before the record was released, so I couldn't buy a copy... haha

HOF is cool. I appreciated it even though I'm not really a country fan.
Definitely need to do a pub crawl down the main street. I think we hit 7 or 8 out of the 12 famous ones.
The ladies of the group went cowboy boot shopping...
We got to the Ryman about 30 minutes after it closed.
Also saw 'Antique Archeology' the shop that sells things from 'American Pickers' Tv show. (outside the city though)

^ cool, thanks for the info. I have to miss my wife's 30th birthday for this trip, so maybe I can buy my way out of the shit house by recording a nice birthday message on vinyl for her. Can't play an instrument, or write a song, so I won't be doing that.

Ask Jack White to play some background music for it. :D

If he's there, I would have no shame asking him to play an instrument or say something.

I have come to REALLY like Lazaretto. I think i like it more than Blunderbuss, and i really like that one. :) Honestly, I could do without the inside-out play on side A and the inescapable groove at the end if side B. I really find this to be a bit of pain in the ass, especially since an ugly noise plays indefinitely at the end of side a and fucking crows cawing at the end of side b. Way to use one of my least favorite sounds in the world Jack, lol! I've considered shooting crows for that very noise in the morning, lol. I bought an automatic turntable specifically so that the needle would lift once a record's over. Jack White has foiled my plan with this record, lol.
