for those of you that arrive in the weekend before the show, be aware of planned engineering work on the tubes.
Most particularly, on the Picadilly Line, which is the one coming from HEATHROW, part of the journey has a replacement bus.
Tube tickets should be valid on the Heathrow Express, which is far faster and you really should take (but double check with staff at the tube station. if they are valid, you're far better off buying a tube ticket then getting on the Express as the tube fare is substantially cheaper. You'll need a zone 1-6 ticket, Pay as you go Oyster card won't work for that. Make sure they don't take your ticket on the train/at Paddington so you can continue your journey on the underground from there).
To note also the works on the Victoria Line if you planed on getting off the Stansted Express at Tottenham Hale to get the tube from there, won't work, you'll need to get to Liverpool St (that's my party).
there's also work on the Jubilee but that's AFTER Wembley, so unless you're staying at a hotel near Kingsbury or farther, you won't be affected.
NOTE: Engineering often overshoots on the early hours of the following Monday, so if travel early Monday morning, make sure you check the work is resolved.
