no thanks.

I'm not sure what to think. Technically I don't have any real issue with it, it's completely leftfield and outside the box, it's not a Kurt soundalike which is good. In all honesty I think I would struggle to think of a suitable replacemnt.

As a huge Nirvana fan, I hate this...I've never been a fan of her or her voice. I'd rather them just play without vocals.

I think Dave sings or don't do it.

Agreed. And I think he could pull it off nicely.

Dave singing makes about as much sense as Courtney singing to me - there would be too many people on both sides of the fence who would not like it - there's a reason the Foos have never covered Nirvana songs. Aside from that, practically speaking it wouldn't make much sense, the performances are supposed to be a celebration, nobody wants to be bummed out by a depressing ballad, so it would need to be an upbeat song, which would make it hard for him to drum and sing at the same time. I know some people would say have Chad play drums and let Dave sing and play guitar, but then you miss out on hearing Dave do what he did in Nirvana.

Interesting choice, if it's true.

• Huge Nirvana fan, and I don't mind it at all. Joan's a great guitarist and performer, should fill in for Kurt admirably.
Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?

I'm going to this tonight. Tickets were only 29$ on stub hub. Why not? I'm pretty excited to see what comes out of the "Nirvana" performance. I love Joan Jett and i think she could kill it on a few Nirvana jams. We'll see. Stoked to see Bruce and the E Street Band, Cat Stevens and Kiss too!

Should have been PJ Harvey.

Or split it, Pj Harvey on one track, Neil Young on one and Eddie Vedder on "Dumb" :)

Not a hardcore Nirvana fan or even a Joan Jett fan, but I think it's a pretty good choice. It seems like anything I've ever read about Cobain, his feminine qualities get pointed out, so it makes for a sorta deeper connection and musically it makes sense.

I managed to catch a really bad stream of the show at 5am (UK time) this morning when I was getting ready for work - I'm not gonna lie, I nearly shed a tear hearing Lorde do All Apologies.
• J.Mascis should tour with Nirvana!! Best vibe of all the people who played last night!

What about Jesse Lacey?

Anyways it's a one off thing it'll be cool to watch with Joan.

Woah, J. Mascis sounded really good doing School. I'd love them to do a proper big benefit show or something with a load of different vocalists - having seen these videos I don't think it would be beyond the realm of posibility, though I doubt they would ever tour.
