Them Crooked Vultures-S/T
Tool-Lateralus
Dr. Dog-Fate
My Morning Jacket-Z for studio, but I'll cheat and say Okonokos
PJ-Binaural

I disagree that there aren't many great albums.

Paul Westerberg: "Stereo/Mono".

PW's "Come Feel Me Tremble" and "Folker" are right up there too for me.

I'll agree that there are tons of great albums. Just not in the rock genre.

I always thought "My Morning Jacket" was one of those modern punk/rock bands. But I hear alot about them on these forums.

They're not punk at all. More of a classic rock kinda thing, with their own spin. A tinge of country-ish leanings with some real groove heavy tunes. Pretty unique sound.

They have some great albums, but I think they hook people with their live material.

Okonokos is great. They've put out a couple albums since then, so maybe a recent soundboard boot, official or otherwise, might be better.

Agreed on Lateralus and Songs for the Deaf (Rated R and Like Clockwork by QOTSA as well). I'd also add:

Elephant - White Stripes
White Pony, Diamond Eyes, and Koi No Yokan - Deftones
Wasting Light - Foo Fighters
Hurry Up, We're Dreaming - M83
El Camino, Brothers - Black Keys
We're Here Because We're Here, Weather Systems - Anathema
Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
