How about the organization taking a poll or survey or whatever to get an idea of how many would be interested in the product? Then if you really HAVE to have collectibles you can always release a limited number of items that are smaller in number and different- signed editions, picture discs, whatever. Those who really need the hoo-haa can fight over them and those who just want the music- especially if it's analog- can have that.
