    talked to Dave yesterday. he is staying in SLC until probably a week from Friday. Michelle is weak as hell. Dave said her earlier speedy recovery was more drugs than anything else. Hannah is extremely nauseated and can't keep food down. still, this is all kind of expected. apparently, Hannah will take anti rejection pills twice a day for the rest of her (long) life!
    If I had known then what I know now...

    Wow. Where to start with my thank you s to everyone!

    I just read through the last week of updates and good vibes. You folks are just amazing with all of your support.

    When I went into surgery last Tuesday I actually fell asleep before they could start the "oxygen and count back talk" I just remember being wheeled into the room with such a positive outlook and so many people who were thinking of our family and sending positive chi that I was just ready to get the show on the road.

    My son Michael summed up the long day Tuesday night by telling me "this day was AWESOME!"
    (Still cry every time I try to say that out loud) He and his dad had been back and forth between the two hospitals waiting for updates from two different surgical teams and making sure to be by both our sides when we woke up! And as you heard above he stayed by my side in the hospital every night to help me out, poor fella was stretched pretty thin as was Dave and our families.

    I hear that I was quite the comedian on Tuesday. All I wanted to know was that Hannah was doing well and that the kidney had taken a liking to its new home. (Which it has YAY!!!!!)

    I have been asleep for a lot of this past week, whew this has been hard work. Off the pain meds now and just needing lots of extra water and rest.

    As Hannah and I aren't allowed to lift anything or push anything or pull anything we are pretty darn helpless. Thanks to Dave we are being well taken care of.

    There will be lots of medicine for Hannah right now it is 17 pills in the morning and 17 pills at night which will begin to taper off a bit.

    I have been listening to a bit (a lot) of Pearl Jam, ok so you all know that bits of songs play in my head all the time. So many lyrics hit home right now.

    I have been wearing a lot of Pearl Jam shirts to feel the love. It is amazing sometimes the people who respond to the shirts. One of the women who works here in the office at the Ronald McDonald house said her nephew is a big fan and was at the LA shows last year. Another parent of little premature twins said he listens to a lot of Pearl jam.

    Thanks to all of you that have sent cards and well wishes.

    We are so lucky to have the support of such a loving community.

    Great to hear from you Michelle. So happy that the surgery went well and thinking of you and Hannah as you both recover. It must be such a special feeling to give your child the gift of life twice. :x

    Take it easy, sounds like you have two amazing men in your life.

    Absolutely understand how PJ lyrics can seem like they were written just for you. Enjoy.

    Just awesome to hear you tell it Michelle! I, and I think a lot of other peeps always knew that everything would turn out okay, but to read you describe how its gone and how much our support has helped, well, it just restores your faith in humanity and the Pearl Jam community. With all the other crap going on in the world, its nice to know that good things do happen and what good can happen when folks band together.

    I know you and yours still have a long way to go but we're here for you and sending positive Chi out your way. Give my best to Hannah, Dave and Michael and be lazy and take it easy. Get well so we can celebrate in Denver!

    If/When I get a job, then I can think about buying a shirt, til then things are tight...I was lucky my hubby even let me join 10C! But I drove to P-town last weekend on a wild goose chase for him and his buddy and ended up empty handed, so I asked to join 10C for my efforts...lol
