Looking for an original Ten vinyl LP (normal red cover, 1991, U.S. pressing - 47857).

Doesn't have to be mint. Just want to add a good copy to my personal collection. This is the LAST record I need to finish my PJ vinyl collection. :)

Please PM or email 100pacer@gmail.com.

Live in U.S. Can Paypal immediately. Thanks.

How many pressings of Ten did they do? Is a first press considered any of the ones made before the reissue, IE the ones with original red background cover, or were there multiple pressing of the pre-reissue version?

That's all I'm looking for: original red cover version.

No idea if it was repressed before reissue.

I do remember many being issued in 92. It's not like people were coveting the 91 LP when it first came out.

I have one in used condition that I'm going to let go as soon as I find a sealed replacement at a decent price. By used condition I mean open, played, and displayed but well taken care of for 23 years. I guess you could say "standard" wear and tear. The record itself is in NM condition.

Is the first US release any different than the other pressings that came out since?

There's only been one original version U.S. release, to the best of my knowledge. Also looks that way on discography site. Not sure if it was ever repressed in U.S. Do remember it wasn't a big deal in 91 and waiting until mid-92 for it to show up in record stores -- they had to be made or something and we're Sony's way of cashing in on band's rising popularity.

Have no idea what print run was. You could get them for $20-30 until it seems like a year ago. Definitely not "rare."

Obviously many different non-U.S. versions, not even counting 2009 reissue or Coke Bottle.

And ... still looking. Have one potential deal down the road. Thanks.

I picked up a sealed first edition of Ten about a year ago for $100. Have seen them go in the past few months from $200-$330, on ebay..but sometimes they go for a lot less, so now is a good time to lock one up.

That's absolutely insane. They were a dime a dozen before the whole vinyl thing took off.

KC: Exactly. "Value" of '91 Ten LP and some of the 7"s says more about the recent PJ vinyl-market bubble than anything. Ten isn't rare. But if a few people act like it is, the balloon rises. Another reason I just want a decent version one at a fair cost. It wasn't even a sought-after record a year ago.

PJ: Realizing that for it and a lot of the 7"s. Hard to see the PJ vinyl market going backward at this point. It's not like there will suddenly be more of the first-press old LPs/singles and more people will get into the band/collecting as time goes on. Just wait for a few years when they hit 25 and are inducted into the (stupid) Hall. They're a legacy band (and the best long-term big rock band ever). Will be fascinating to watch the band continue -- and the market play out.

Glad I have my collection. Only thing I collect anymore and records last forever. Or until you're in the grave. :)
