I remember reading on here that Idlewild apparently didn't enjoy being on tour with PJ back in '03, but that must've been a load of crap because they wouldn't have agreed to open for them again!

Personally, i think they're a great band. I saw them in 2005 opening for REM and i was blown away. Good choice guys!

Woo. I predicted Idlewild way back when. Do I win a prize?

Should be good, seen them 5 times now, although the last time was absolute gash since there were way too many drunkards flailing their arms about and shouting "World in your arms". Think it'll be much better with a crowd who won't do that. The secret tour last year was great.

Where are you guys seeing the confirmation that it's Idlewild supporting? I'm looking on the tour info page that was posted earlier but can't see anything on there.

    Am I missing something?!

Regardless, I really like Idlewild, so suits me. Was hoping/still hope for Chris Cornell, but I'll be seeing him at Astoria/Hyde Park/Manchester (please!) so won't get too disappointed.

    Aren't they Scottish?

Edit: a little trip to the rest of this thread has revealed that yes, they are :D

    WOOT!

Best news I've heard all day!

Been a fan of them for about 10 years now and seen them live a bunch of times before.

Their new record is excellent and is my favourite album thus far this year.

Just hope I can get in intime to see them.....awesome.....it's going to be legendary :D

    *yawn*
just played the myspace thing as well... now i can't remember it...
Oh yeah? Well, I've had about enough of morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells - and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you - you've had enough of me?
  • Yeah, my first impression is 'yawn' as well... Their songs are just background music at best. Regardless, I've downloaded an album or two...it's always better to at least have a clue about a band you're seeing...even if it is just the opening act.

Interpol are opening a show/s...pity they're not doing Wembley, they're a million times better than Idlewild.

Whatever, the open is always a numb experience anyhow, you just stand waiting for it to be over so PJ can get up there...
