wires crossed

got wires for spark
got dreams bedtime goodbye
got water pure
kool-aid
refined cane gulp
got got got-it

got fish cancer
got blue grass
pleasant scabs got cut
now torn open sad

thankfully full tank
got going far as it takes us
hear sidewalks end
falling off edge bruised sound

got stomach ache
got blessings up against it all
we're broken hard eyes painted like nothing
got not even darkness
yeah got blackened bells
not ringing
just nothing

tell me a thing
will to listen
behind me
what you've found
got what won't
connect

maybe a sky above is beautiful like her
i'll be down here in a timber
somehow sand will be everyday falling away
    good-bye lovely living
    not a goodnight
my sleep can not last like darkness

fly your cold air like drums of angels
    take away where i lay
add a seed to the floor
    maybe someone'll be happy
    shaded hot summer's day

i'll have been taken decades prior
    losing that existence
the fact of time falls apart next to blue robin eggs
where she has been with sun-fire-stars
gathering wildflowers where i said i would have
the very last time my bones were sold
& with lace she became a country road finding me

    torn to bits
    ripped apart
    falling against every wall
tripping over each day & night
a piece of noon's moon still gathers under my shadow
i think she brought it here for me
