My opinion is, people often get lambasted for posting here for the prices they request. Which I think is BS. So instead of keeping it in the "family." People find other avenues to peddle their wares. I think it's time for the Lost Dog forum to modify their policies.

I personally trust buying items here, as the group as a whole tends to hold buyers and sellers accountable. I wouldn't take the risk with some random on Facebook. Also been noting that people seem to be getting kinda fed up with the flipping/auctions on the couple of pages that I visit. I like it here and I really like the generosity and support between the members, it's really nice to see in the age of faceless electronic interaction.

One time I farted in a mason jar and thought I could save it for a year.

When I opened it a year later, it smelled like a jar and not a fart!

    Talk about being disappointed. :(

  • Do you want to deal with unregulated Facebook or do you want to deal with fellow fans? Do you want to deal with Joe Blow or do you want to deal with people who pay to be on here so they are less likely to screw you?

Sure someone could pay the $20 to become a member here and screw you but what are the chances? You rarely see problems in the Lost Dogs section between members buying/selling. If you ask $200 over the regular selling price for your items be prepared for comments on it....Do you really have that thin skin whereas it bothers you so much?

If you're selling vinyl or posters on here it's much more likely they will go to good use and be hung on the wall or spun. I'd rather help out a fan than a straight flipper...I always hated that god damn dolphin.

I never heard of anyone buying something from FB. Just buy/sell on here or eBay or EBeans and make sure you don't gift. Problem solved.

I wouldn't buy anything off of facebook unless I already knew the seller.... Here we know a lot of the sellers, or they are recommended (or not) by people we do know. I think it's a lot less likely to be scammed on Lost Dogs than on FB.

Strange thing to post on a forum where many of us regularly trade, buy and sell items quite happily. It is much easier to locate specific things here where there are so many collectors around. Anyway, if it isn't your cup of tea don't drink it.
