Keep the vinyl and download them yourself. I've been slowly putting my together over the past year but it's not hard to find all the boots to download for free.

seriously, the 2 TB hd is nice, but he isn't much of a buddy if he isn't giving the boots for free!
think of sevens as a commodity you own, you may never know when you need something big time later, tickets posters, whatever. Sevens will be a good way of acquiring something else you may want.
example. I never scored the Pitts poster, but my RVM vinyl sitting around for 10 years got me that.
Definitely keep your box set. Also if anyone wants to enlighten me on "where to look" please do PM! Your buddy is offering what sounds like a fair trade since he's effectively trading you his work for your money. But all you're really getting out of it is a piece of hardware that may or may not be any good (for all your know that drive is a refurbished 5400RPM Hitachi!) which either way is a $100 or less item, plus just the effort he put into accumulating the files. If he wanted to be nice he'd suggest you buy yourself a hard drive and come over with a case of beer so he can clone his drive onto yours while you get shitfaced and listen to some PJ. Do not take deal. Deal stupid.
Whatever makes you happy. But I wouldn't do it. 2TB's Western Digital My Book Essential HD's go for what, 100 bucks? Digital media (MP3's, SHN's, Flac's, APE's, Wav's, M4A's etc..) can be downloaded online, and traded via B+P style. PJ's Seven's is a physical product. You can find one for 100 bucks. Well, maybe PJ's next Pop Shop in Seattle. But for now, you won't find one for 100 bucks today. Might take time to download all those show's to the HD, but it's exciting & fun to do. I've been doing it since '99 and boy oh boy is it exciting!
just copy the hard drive. he is a buddy? keep the 7s
well said
Yeah that's a no brainer. You can just listen to them all online or download them anyway. If you don't want the sevens, just trade it for something you really want or sell it.
The shows are out there? Care to PM me that bit of info...

The newer shows are audience sources, no thanks.
Okay, well download the older shows from it and get the others elsewhere... although judging from the few official boots i've heard from the 2013 tour, most of the audience boots are actually better now anyway!

I would not take the trade. I've got an unopened Sevens and I'm waiting for the perfect moment to open it. A 2 TB hard drive of shows (that I more than likely have) would not persuade to trade.

Do whatever makes you and the other person happy dude. Things are only worth what people will pay for them. I had a sevens but gladly traded it for other albums. You have the opportunity to get every show in trade for 7" records of 1 album. Unless you like flipping records over every two minutes, make the trade. You wouldn't be asking if it wouldn't make you happy.
Thanks for all the feedback folks I took the trade, the ease of having all the shows in flac at my fingertips was just too great. I'm a tad useless when it comes to technology, so its gonna save me a bunch of effort. No doubt my buddy would have let me copy of bunch of his stuff for free, but I've seen the days and days he has put in to downloading and organizing the files, so it wouldn't feel right on my part. Also he's throwing in all the Springsteen boots and a ton of Ryan adams. I'm stoked!

Good call, a few hundred flac live shows will make me much happier than 7s

damn man, just saw this after my post above. I'm afraid your buddy completely took you. i have offered the HD up as a B&P in the past to several folks on this board. I would still do the same for you if you can back out of the deal. Pains me to see people getting ripped off like that.
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...
Yeah your mind must have already been made up and you were looking for reaffirmation, because you got taken advantage of. I could have personally mailed you either MP3 discs or DVDrs with flac of every show of them for the cost of discs and shipping. Or you could have bought a decent, inexpensive HD and mailed it to me and I would have filled it up. Like countless others mentioned, the shows are all out there and even if you feel inadequate at obtaining them others could help. Oh well, too late now.
Too bad you gave the Sevens away to this guy who took advantage of you! As others have said, tons of members here would have helped you out with bootlegs for free... your "friend" sure got a fantastic deal though, so, um, good for him i guess.

If you don't plan on spinning them then the offer you got is fair
