Ikea Expedit shelf life expired

I know there are quite a lot of people who like Expedit to store their vinyl but seems like its been discontinued.

Gizmodo had a great article about this. Apparently IKEA is responsible for 1% of world lumber use. This new shelf is practically the same as an Expedit except somewhere they've managed to shorten one of the pieces of wood by 1cm. May not sound like a lot but saving 1cm on 1% of the worlds lumber is probably going to save them a few hundred million in costs.

Having said that, I bought 2 expedit's last weekend.

I would guess the saving is from the perimeter wood panels.

Lol. Looks like we can rest easy.
Kind of sounds like the new kind will be marginally less attractive though...... why do businesses make change just for the sake of change? It's happening with all of my favorite cuts of jeans too. Every time I find the perfect jeans, whoever makes them changes the cut just enough to make me never buy them again, and I'm left searching for a different perfect pair of jeans. I really hate that!!!
